IntraHealth International commends the dedicated health workers who continue to provide care on the front lines of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

A free new online course highlights ways to incorporate gender equality and women’s empowerment into efforts to strengthen health systems around the world. Gender and Health Systems Strengthening is now available through the Global Health eLearning Center to Foreign Service nationals, US government partners, and US Agency for International Development field-based staff.

At the meeting “Towards a Fistula-Free Generation,” in September, 2013, participants examined the relationship between the work of the Fistula Care project, in which IntraHealth was a partner, toward reducing incidences of obstetric fistula and "The Manifesto for Maternal Health," published in The Lancet in February 2013.

A new $8 million project will expand access to high-quality treatment and prevention services for obstetric fistula in Mali. IntraHealth International’s Capacity Building for Fistula Treatment and Prevention in Mali Project, which launches June 19 in Sikasso, focuses on making fistula repair services routinely available within health facilities and building the capacity of health workers to prevent, diagnose, and treat the condition effectively.
