We've worked in Panama and throughout Central America  to strengthen health sectors and address the HIV epidemic among high-risk populations. In Panama, we focus on interventions to improve the quality of care and reduce stigma against people living with HIV.

We partner with the government, higher education institions, NGOs, and civil society to improve the preservice education of health workers and their capacity to deliver high-quality, comprehensive HIV and AIDS care and treatment.

Selected Achievements

Developed and helped 20+ higher education institutions across Central America integrate a new HIV curriculum into their nursing, medical, or other health professional training programs.

Improved health worker performance and HIV services in 58 hospitals throughout Central America using our Optimizing Performance and Quality tool.
