Dr. Annette Seck Ndiaye of the IntraHealth-led Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (URHI, or ISSU in French) in Senegal advocates for the private sector to play a larger role in supporting health in general, and family planning in particular.  She also calls on the national health development plan of Senegal to identify practical solutions for incorporating the private sector.

The French language paper Agence de Presse Sénégalaise reported on a recent concert by the rap artists from the Daara J. Family in Kolda, Senegal. The artists performed in support of a project led by IntraHealth International aimed at reducing the prevalence of early marriages and pregnancies among young girls.

Recently, Rwanda reached another health care milestone in officially adopting a national palliative care policy. The IntraHealth-led HIV/AIDS Clinical Services Program (HCSP), with technical assistance from partner Mildmay International, supported the policy’s development and adoption.

The French-language news organization SudOnLine reported on a recent a community ceremony to declare the abandonment of the practice of excision. IntraHealth is working in partnership with the Siggil Jigeen Network, Senegal's Ministry of Health, and USAID to pilot this initiative in Senegal. 

IntraHealth’s global project, CapacityPlus, recently launched a knowledge exchange partnership with the Global Health Workforce Alliance.

The French-language paper L'Office recently covered some of the IntraHealth-led Adolescent Reproductive Health Project's work  to reduce drop-outs due to unplanned pregnancies and to reduce gender-based violence in school and in the community.
