Jennifer Wesson

Former director of measurement and learning

Jennifer Wesson is an epidemiologist with more than 20 years of experience in international public health. She has managed research and monitoring and evaluation programs in almost 20 countries and at the headquarters level. Wesson is a skilled communicator with an extensive history of forging successful partnerships with donors and country governments. She is also an expert in women's health.

Prior to joining IntraHealth International in 2013, Wesson led FHI 360’s research team in Rwanda. Topics of study included maternal and child health, reproductive health, family planning, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, and HIV prevention, care, and treatment. More recently, Wesson has been applying behavioral economics approaches to qualitative research and implementation science.

Wesson has a PhD in epidemiology with a specialization in infectious diseases from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research has been published in Contraception, International Journal of STD and AIDS, Global Health Science and Practice, and World Health and Population, among other journals. She is fluent in French.
