Adolescent Health

Delaying Age of Marriage and Reducing Anaemia Among Adolescent Girls in Jharkhand: Technical Brief. Vistaar Project 2012.
This technical brief examines interventions that have contributed to increased knowledge and changed perceptions of adolescent girls, their mothers and community leaders regarding the correct age at marriage for girls, early pregnancy, and contraception. [760 KB PDF]

Delaying Age of Marriage and Reducing Anaemia Among Adolescent Girls in Jharkhand: Endline Brief. Vistaar Project 2012.
The interventions in this brief have increased awareness and changed attitudes towards early pregnancy and use of contraception. The interventions have also increased knowledge about nutritional anaemia and how to prevent it, as well as increased consumption of iron supplements among adolescent girls. [876 kb pdf]

Age of Marriage and Nutrition of Adolescents in Select Districts of Jharkhand—Key Baseline Survey Findings. Vistaar Project 2010.

Nutrition Security

Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition Practices in Select Districts of Jharkhand: Endline Brief. Vistaar Project 2012.

Improving the Coverage and Quality of Village Health and Nutrition Days: Technical Brief. Vistaar Project 2012.
Measurable improvements have been made in the number of ANC, child health and nutrition services provided during village health and nutrition days. This brief shows how systems can be improved at scale with minimal additional costs resulting in better access and use of services for women and children. [1 mb pdf]

Human Resources Information System

Strengthening Human Resources Information Systems: Experiences from Bihar and Jharkhand, India: Technical Brief. Vistaar Project 2012.
Pilot efforts in Bihar and Jharkhand established a model district human resource information system. Significantly more data is now available, on the education, employment status, location, and other characteristics of individual health workers, which will facilitate more strategic decision-making and improved access to health care for these states.
