USAID Stop Gender-Based Violence (USAID Stop GBV)

IntraHealth International and our partners are working to end gender-based violence (GBV) and prevent the spread of HIV by promoting gender equality and human rights as part of this $17 million, five-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development.

In areas with high rates of gender-based violence, women and girls are particularly vulnerable to HIV.

Through this project, IntraHealth cultivates healthy male involvement and provides technical support to community-based GBV services, including One Stop Centers (OSC). We coordinate all community outreach efforts using our Healthy Images of Manhood approach to engage men, boys, and key populations. To improve and expand access to GBV services, we work closely with national, provincial, and district government authorities to:

  • Train OSC staff in GBV case management
  • Deliver stigma- and discrimination-free services
  • Improve the availability of supplies
  • Enhance community referral systems
  • Lead quality-improvement efforts
