Strengthening the Capacity to Scale-up HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment Programs in South Sudan

Through this five-year CDC-funded project, IntraHealth International partnered with the Ministry of Health to increase access to HIV counseling and testing and improve access to antiretroviral therapy (ART) services for pregnant and breastfeeding women, their partners, and children. The project was implemented in partnership with Save the Children and St. Bakhita Primary Health Care Center of the Catholic Diocese of Yei in Central Equatoria and Eastern Equatoria states, respectively.

IntraHealth and its implementing partners provided HIV testing and counseling services (including pre-test counseling, post-test counseling, voluntary counseling and testing (VCT), prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMCTC), and provider initiated counseling and testing (PICT)) to more than 47,700 individuals; ARVs for more than 500 pregnant women; and dispensed over 646,000 condoms.
