Samuel Jacob Ngobua is an expert in health systems and health workforce strengthening, public health leadership, and project management. He has a deep understanding of working in complex settings and throughout his career has successfully engaged government in a participatory approach to implement projects successfully.
Prior to joining IntraHealth, Ngobua worked with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Abuja, leading the health systems strengthening unit. While at the CDC, he also managed key projects including the Twinning Center Program, the Nigeria Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program, the project for HIV/AIDS services decentralization, and the project for strengthening integration of HIV/AIDS service delivery in Nigeria.
Ngobua graduated from the University of Ibadan with an MPH degree and later earned a postgraduate diploma in marketing from Kaduna Polytechnic. He has additional training in epidemiology, federal appropriation law, human resources for health, and US grants and cooperative agreements management. He is a multiple Department of States award winner, including the Franklin and spirit of team honors awards.
