The 2019 Triangle Global Health Annual Conference will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in Durham, North Carolina, with a theme of One Health: Creating our Shared Future -- Humans, Animals, and the Environment. ​It will focus on ways to expand interdisciplinary collaboration and communication on all aspects of health for humans, animals, and the environment and will examine how health for humans, animals, and the environment are inextricably linked.

Led by Dai Hozumi, this workshop will delve into plausible scenarios for health work in sub-Saharan Africa in 2040, and by extension the future of health workforce development. This interactive session will ask participants to consider four draft scenarios for the next 20 years of health workforce development in Africa that capture a range of future possibilities—good and bad, expected and surprising.

Making Old Data Do New Tricks: Machine Learning with Facility and Population Data in Uganda

Amy Finnegan and Dave Potenziani will present a poster highlighting IntraHealth's machine-learning approach in Uganda, which is used to glean insights from the flood of health systems and population data available to the Ugandan ministry of health. What they found will help ministry officials make more strategic decisions about the support they allocate to health facilities.
