Last week, the HRH Global Resource Center launched its new eLearning program through an online event hosted from Chapel Hill, NC, and highlighted the program’s first course, iHRIS Administrator: Level 1. The eLearning program is part of IntraHealth International’s strategy to promote innovative approaches to making knowledge about human resources for health more widely available through its global project, CapacityPlus and other projects.

Last month, the United Nations Security Council adopted a new resolution, Resolution 1998, which extends monitoring oversight to recurrent attacks on schools and hospitals and expands the monitoring and reporting mechanism that protects children in armed conflict. Prior to the adoption of the resolution, IntraHealth International and 13 other organizations sent a letter to 15 members of the Security Council urging the adoption of the new resolution.

August 3, 2011, Chapel Hill, NC—Global health nonprofit IntraHealth International has named bioethicist and attorney Louise Winstanly to its Board of Directors.

Earlier this month, IntraHealth became a member of the Reproductive Health Coalition, a global partnership of public, private, and nongovernmental organizations dedicated to ensuring that all people in low- and middle-income countries can access and use affordable, high-quality reproductive health supplies. Since 2004, this coalition has been at the forefront of international efforts to secure reproductive health supplies by building effective partnerships, strengthening systems, and increasing resources.
