A new five-year, $23 million project will help Uganda’s ministries, districts, professional councils, and private organizations better plan for, develop, and strengthen the management of their health workforce.

In South Sudan—a country in which civil unrest and widespread famine have left many without access to health care or food—mother-to-mother support groups are helping prevent the spread of HIV while providing HIV-positive women with the emotional and social support they need.

Health workers at an outreach facility in rural Shinyanga, Tanzania, hosted two special guests on October 8: Mandy Moore—American singer/songwriter, actress, and PSI global ambassador—and Jennifer James—founder of Mom Bloggers for Social Good and writer for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Huffington Post. 

Eighteen international health organizations, led by mPowering Frontline Health Workers and IntraHealth International, are coming together to share information related to the Ebola crisis response through four webinar discussions and via the new online Ebola Resource Center.
