Kate Tulenko Talks Ebola on Arise News

Kate Tulenko, IntraHealth's vice president for health systems innovation, talks with news anchor Julian Phillips on Arise News about the state of two Dallas health workers who suffered from Ebola (nurses Nina Pham and Amber Vinson), the US health workforce's preparedness for the virus, and what may have gone wrong in Texas.

"Taking off infected equipment is often the riskiest time to get infected," Tulenko says. "Even though the health care workers [in Texas] had received training, they probably hadn't had adequate practice. It's one thing to know intellectually how to use and how to take off this gear, but it's another thing in practice. It's actually very difficult physicially to get this equipment off properly."
