Health Worker Training and Performance
Health workers make a difference—often a critical difference—in peoples’ lives every day. The education, training, and support of health workers directly correspond to the quality of services and care they are able to provide to the individuals and communities they serve. IntraHealth is a leader in building local talent to develop and implement effective learning and performance strategies for health workers.
Our key approaches include:
- Learning for Performance. Our guide and interactive website offer a step-by-step approach and tools designed to enable health workers to develop the right skills linked to job responsibilities. Based on IntraHealth’s experience in designing training and performance improvement programs over the last 30 years in countries around the world, Learning for Performance focuses on what is essential for health workers to do their jobs, while addressing the factors that ensure application of new skills on the job.
- Performance Improvement. Root causes of health workers’ performance problems can be difficult to identify, but they need to be addressed in order for health care facilities to succeed. Our interactive website presents an easy-to-use guide for following the performance improvement approach to find the root causes of a problem and then implement an intervention to fix that specific deficit—and improve the quality and accessibility of health care services.
