IntraHealth Announces the 2015 SwitchPoint Youth Contest

IntraHealth International announces the opening of the 2015 SwitchPoint Youth Contest. The contest invites individuals age 30 and under to think across boundaries, to see everyday objects in new ways, and to channel their ingenuity to address some of the many global health and humanitarian challenges facing the world today.

The contest is an integral part of IntraHealth’s annual SwitchPoint conference. The deadline for submissions is April 6. Participants should submit a short video or essay that addresses the following contest prompt:

This year, we’re looking for breakthrough solutions to help health workers better serve communities in need around the world. What’s your breakthrough solution?

This year’s winner will receive:

  • An iPad mini
  • All-access VIP tickets to SwitchPoint 2015
  • The opportunity to present the video or essay at SwitchPoint 2015
  • Tickets to the Friday, April 24, concert at the Haw River Ballroom

SwitchPoint is a two-day event that focuses on the great ideas, tools, and people who are making a real difference in the world in areas such as humanitarian innovation, global health, and technology. The conference seeks collaboration among unusual parties, bringing together the brightest thinkers and entrepreneurs from multiple industries to innovate and collaborate on solutions to critical development issues.

The SwitchPoint Youth Contest is designed to encourage and showcase young individuals whose unique ideas could make the world a better, healthier place. Last year’s winners were Ian Connolly and Jeffrey Yang from Stanford University for their MiracleFeet brace.

Complete contest rules and submission requirements are available on the SwitchPoint conference website.

SwitchPoint 2015 will be held April 24 and 25, 2015, in Saxapahaw, North Carolina.
