New Website Launches with Tools for Managing Health Workers

The Southern Africa Human Capacity Development (SAHCD) Coalition recently launched a new website. The website offers tools for responding to the human resources for health crisis facing the region, particularly in managing the HIV/AIDS epidemic. These tools are intended to encourage collaboration, stronger health systems, and creative problem-solving among health workers in the region. The new website offers:

  • Information on developing and launching an electronic Human Resource Information System, which is an essential tool in planning, allocating,  and managing human resources for health
  • Samples of training materials and workplace policies that can encourage improved performance and skills among health workers and managers.

The Coalition, which has worked in Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, and Swaziland since 2006, works to build stronger health systems and support health workers’ efforts to respond to the HIV/AIDS epidemic across southern Africa.

The SAHCD project is led by IntraHealth International and funded by USAID.
