Preston Brown

Preston BrownMost recently, Preston Brown has served as vice president of software engineering for Bronto Software, a Durham, NC-based e-mail marketing and analytics firm. He leads the Bronto teams in charge of production systems and new software development. A seasoned software professional, Brown thrives in dynamic, rapidly changing technical environments. 

Prior to working at Bronto, he held a variety of roles during his tenure at Red Hat Inc., including manager of desktop software development, manager of Linux operating system development, and director of software engineering. In addition to managing various engineering teams, he helped guide the direction of many Red Hat Linux releases during a period of tremendous growth. Subsequently, Brown served as vice president of mergers and acquisitions at Jacobs Capital, LLC. Through his broad experience with software development coupled with his finance background, he is the perfect liaison for balancing technological and business-centric goals. Brown received a BS in computer science from Yale University and an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
