Presentation on iHRIS Wins Awards at International Conference in Tanzania
At the 34th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fare on July 7, a team of faculty and students from the University of Dar es Salaam won two awards for an exhibit showcasing their collaborative efforts with the IntraHealth International-led Tanzania Human Resource Capacity Project and other university affiliates. The exhibit included several innovative works, such as Tanzania’s customized iHRIS Manage software, and was the second overall winner of exhibitors, as well as the best in the category of “Training, Research, and Consultancy.”
The group of faculty and students from the university’s Computer Science Department has been collaborating with the Tanzania Human Resource Capacity Project to customize and support the country’s iHRIS Manage software—Open Source software created to support organizations in developing countries to design and manage a comprehensive human resources strategy.
The trade fair presentation included computer stations at which attendees could try out the iHRIS Manage system. The team distributed literature about the software, including a user manual in Swahili, which they created.
