Pape Amadou Gaye

Pape GayePape Amadou Gaye is president and CEO of IntraHealth International. A native of Senegal, he has three decades of leadership in international health with extensive field experience in Africa. Prior to his appointment as IntraHealth's CEO in 2004, Gaye led the organization's regional office for West, Central, and North Africa, significantly contributing to IntraHealth’s strong reputation in training and learning, performance improvement, and human capacity development. His career includes work with the US Peace Corps, the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Committee, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Dedicated to improving the well-being of the most vulnerable people around the globe, Gaye believes partnership is essential: he promotes collaborative partnerships among diverse organizations and governments to meet the enormous health challenges faced by developing countries. 

Gaye is regularly invited to speak nationally and internationally on issues related to capacity building and the global health worker crisis. His board and advisory service includes the Center for African Family Studies; Management Sciences for Africa; Nourish International (at UNC); and Duke University’s Global Health Institute. He holds an MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles.
