Maureen Corbett, MIA

Corbett

Maureen Corbett has served IntraHealth’s mission of empowering health workers to better serve communities in need around the world for more than two decades. Her role at IntraHealth has evolved as the organization has grown, from a university-based project focused on training health workers in family planning, to an independent non-profit NGO actively engaged in solving the complex global health workforce crisis. As vice president of programs, Corbett oversees a portfolio of maternal, newborn and child health, family planning, HIV/AIDS, and health systems strengthening programs in more than 30 countries—and several hundred staff working in partnership with governments, local organizations, private sector and sister organizations to improve provider performance, strengthen health systems, harness technology, leverage partnerships and ultimately improve access to essential, quality health care.

Corbett is recognized for her leadership and perspectives on family planning, and maternal and reproductive health, including post-abortion care, and received the international Champion of Reproductive Health award from Ipas in 2003. She held various managerial, technical, and leadership roles at IntraHealth prior to becoming vice president in 2004. Corbett holds a master’s in international administration from the School for International Training's Program in Intercultural Management.
