IntraHealth is providing multifaceted support to Lesotho’s Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to build the capacity of the national health system and improve the delivery of HIV/AIDS services in a country with one of the world’s highest rates of HIV infection. This work includes:
- Strengthening the human resources information system
- Developing health worker recruitment and deployment strategies and strengthening leadership and management of the health workforce
- Assessing the climate, standards of care, and employee satisfaction at hospitals and creating tailored plans to address each facility’s needs
- Enhancing health worker skills and knowledge, including HIV/AIDS training in preservice educational institutions, and supporting improved performance on the job.
