Kris Horvath, Knowledge Services Officer

“I work where public health and information management meet,” says Kris Horvath, Knowledge Services officer, “which feels like it puts me at the heart of the world. It’s difficult to read any contemporary reporting about anything which doesn’t concern one, if not both, of these issues.”

Kris has been a part of the Knowledge Services team at IntraHealth since 2007. He was specifically interested in working with Knowledge Services because, he says, “I’ve always been interested in how people learn, use information, and acquire and apply knowledge.”

Kris is instrumental in helping IntraHealth staff make informed choices about the information systems they use. He developed a training and learning site on the company's internal website for staff to register for face-to-face training classes or find self-paced learning material. He also hosts webinars for field staff.  "My hope is that all my colleagues, no matter where they work, can learn from one another, tap into the expertise that exists throughout the organization, and understand the information resources available to them."

He was drawn to a career with IntraHealth because of its focus on the health worker. He explains, “The innovative and resourceful quality of the projects I read about made an impression on me.”

Kris says working at IntraHealth has been rewarding. “It’s allowed me to see how new ways of accessing information, knowledge, and wisdom can transform the most intimate and essential areas of people’s lives.”
