Fred Hutchison, Founder, Hutchison Law Group

“We’re all put here for a limited time. Part of what you do is you take care of yourself and your family, but you also have to take care of the community in which you live,” says Fred Hutchison, founder of Hutchison Law Group, which specializes in corporate and intellectual property.  “And part of the community in which you live is the world.”

Fred has volunteered for IntraHealth International since 2003, when he provided legal services to the fledgling organization as it became an independent nonprofit after being under the wing of UNC for over two decades.

Now Fred is a member of IntraHealth’s Global Health Advisory Committee. His goal is to give the organization advice on how to grow strategically, and to get people more involved with IntraHealth.

“It’s clear that if people are suffering in other parts of the world, it certainly affects us. Health plays a major part in the stability of any country,” Fred says. “We have a moral obligation to help, but it also benefits all of us if there is prosperity and good health across the globe.”

In his experience with IntraHealth, Fred has noticed the enthusiasm staff members bring to what they do. “There is a very personal touch with everything that goes on,” he explains. “The folks I have always met at IntraHealth see the work as not only a job but a passion—something they believe in.”
