Extra Funding to Expand HIV Efforts in Southern Sudan

The IntraHealth-led Preventing and Reducing the Impact of HIV Project in Southern Sudan received an additional $400,000 from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for this year’s budget. The Project plans to use a portion of the funds to increase its support to the International Medical Corps’ and their efforts to open up a voluntary counseling and testing center for HIV in Western Equatoria state. The remaining funds will support the Project‘s work with the Sudan People's Liberation Army to increase awareness of HIV and manage HIV prevention and treatment interventions in the military.
