Capacity Project Legacy Series

The Capacity Project Legacy Series is a collection of 11 documents sharing information from the IntraHealth-led Capacity Project's work.

The 11 documents feature:

• The Kenya Emergency Hiring Plan: Results from a Rapid Workforce Expansion Strategy
  Legacy Series No. 1, September 2009. Discusses the planning and implementation of the Emergency Hiring Plan, and reflections for future implementation.
  
• Knowledge Management and Human Resources for Health: Using Quality Information to Make Better Decisions
  Legacy Series No. 2, September 2009. Illustrates the Project’s approach to integrating knowledge management into HRH strengthening activities and provides recommendations for future initiatives.
• Repositioning Family Planning: Rwanda’s No-Scalpel Vasectomy Program
  Legacy Series No. 3, September 2009. Discusses the Project's work to expand family planning services, and provides recommendations for future implementation. 
• Addressing Gender Inequality in Human Resources for Health
  Legacy Series No. 4, September 2009. Reviews how the Project addressed gender discrimination and inequality in HRH through its institutional mechanisms, approaches and tools as well as in country-level implementation.
• Applying the Learning for Performance Approach
  Legacy Series No. 5, September 2009. Discusses the Project’s participation in the development of LFP-informed learning interventions.
• The Impact of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Strengthening
  Legacy Series No. 6, September 2009. Provides an overview of results from a qualitative evaluation study of the Project’s HRIS strengthening in Swaziland, Uganda and Rwanda, and draws on results from a regional workshop on data-driven decision-making in Tanzania.
• Strengthening Professional Associations for Health Workers
  Legacy Series No. 7, September 2009. Describes the Project's models for strengthening professional associations.
• Strengthening the Role of Faith-Based Organizations in Human Resources for Health Initiatives
  Legacy Series No. 8, September 2009. Describes the Project’s contributions to strengthening Christian Health Associations’ HR systems, and provides recommendations for working with the faith-based sector.
• Supporting Health Worker Performance with Effective Supervision
  Legacy Series No. 9, September 2009. Shares the Project's performance support intervention model, analyzes the variations in results and includes recommendations for implementing and scaling up interventions.
• Global Partnerships: Strengthening Human Resources for Health Approaches Together
  Legacy Series No. 10, September 2009. Provides a retrospective view of the Project’s contributions and recommendations in the area of global partnering.
• Strengthening Human Resources Management: Knowledge, Skills and Leadership
  Legacy Series No. 11, September 2009. Describes the rationale, process, methodology and some of the results of key approaches that the Project and its collaborating partners developed and implemented in sub-Saharan Africa.
