Capacity Project Launches HRH Global Resource Center

The IntraHealth-led Capacity Project offers a new online service that makes essential human resources for health (HRH) information available to health care planners and managers. The HRH Global Resource Center features a web-based, searchable knowledge base on topics such as deployment, education and training, out-migration and retention of health workers.

The Resource Center is one of the Project's approaches to assist health care leaders in developing countries to improve workforce planning, develop better education and training programs for the workforce and strengthen systems that support workers' performance.

Designed to make it easy for HRH practitioners to find evidence and ideas, share resources with colleagues and contribute materials, the Resource Center strives to keep the global HRH community informed and inspired. One vehicle for knowledge sharing is the site's original interview series, HRH Leaders in Action, which brings to life the personal perspectives of national HRH champions on key themes such as leadership.

The Resource Center holds a growing collection of reports, journal articles and tools. Based on input from members of the site's primary audience, national and sub-national health sector leaders and managers in developing countries, the collection incorporates a special focus on country-level documents to strengthen country-to-country knowledge sharing.

The Project invites partnerships with other users, networks and organizations to create new channels for knowledge sharing, foster innovation and strengthen HRH information sharing at local, national, regional and global levels.
