Pape Gaye To Moderate GHC Panel "The Impact Of Weak Health Systems On The Health Care Worker Crisis"

Pape GayePape Gaye, President and CEO of IntraHealth, will moderate the panel "The Impact of Weak Health Systems on the Health Care Worker Crisis" at the 35th annual International Conference on Global Health.  This panel will explore how elements of an overall health care system affect health workforce capacity in developing countries and how these elements can be addressed.  The session is a part of a day-long focus on health systems. 

Gaye will bring three decades experience in international health care development leadership to the panel. Along with his extensive work in strengthening human resources for health through IntraHealth, Gaye has worked with the US Peace Corps and with the US Centers for Disease Control.

The Health Systems and the Health Workforce panel will be held on Wednesday, May 28, from 1:45–3:45 pm at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC. Scheduled panel participants include Dr. Susana Madarieta, Regional Director for the Center for Health Development, Department of Health in the Philippines; Sylvie Kwedi, Deputy Director of Clinical Operations, Aeras Global TB Vaccine Fund; and Dr. Julian Atim with the Action Group for Health, Human Rights and HIV/AIDS (AGHA).
